Fees, Rebates and Cancellations

Our consultation fees reflect the time, expertise, and individualised psychological care provided during each appointment.

Current consultation fees are available by contacting Perceptive Psychology. We are happy to discuss our fees, Medicare rebates, and any questions you may have before arranging your first appointment.

If you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (formerly known as a Mental Health Care Plan) prepared by your General Practitioner, you may be eligible to receive Medicare rebates for your psychology appointments.

To access Medicare rebates:

• Arrange an appointment with your GP to discuss a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
• Ensure your referral is addressed to a Clinical Psychologist.
• Provide your referral before or at your first appointment.

As of 1 July 2026, the Medicare rebate for a standard 50-minute consultation with a Clinical Psychologist is $149.05. Medicare rebates are currently available for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year, subject to Medicare eligibility and current government requirements.

Please note that Medicare provides a rebate towards your consultation fee and an out-of-pocket expense will usually apply.

Depending on your level of cover, you may also be eligible to claim benefits through your private health insurer. As rebates and eligibility vary between health funds and policies, we recommend contacting your insurer directly to confirm your level of cover before your appointment.

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Providing adequate notice of cancellation allows that appointment to be offered to another person seeking psychological care.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, the following cancellation fees apply:

• Before the first appointment reminder: No cancellation fee.
• After the first appointment reminder: 55% of the consultation fee.
• After the second appointment reminder: 75% of the consultation fee.
• Failure to attend your appointment or cancellation on the day of your appointment: 100% of the consultation fee.

Payment is required at the completion of each consultation. For telehealth appointments, payment is required prior to the commencement of your session.

Perceptive Psychology does not undertake medico-legal assessments or prepare reports for court proceedings or legal matters.
